Officially, the Russian Private Military Company – the Wagner Group – doesn’t exist. However, social media usage by mercenaries and other unofficial accounts indicates a busy and active organization with a large presence in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In this case study, we uncover the online presence of the Wagner Group to showcase how OSINT can provide indicators and warnings to military decision-makers. Through the use of automated, persistent and customizable risk analytics, analysts were able to rapidly uncover:
