Dr. Brenton Cooper Honoured with Prestigious AIPIO Award
At the Intelligence 2025 event hosted by the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO) in Sydney, Fivecast CEO and Co-founder Dr. Brenton Cooper was awarded the David Irvine AO Memorial Award.
Established by the AIPIO Board in 2023, the award recognises individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of intelligence in Australia.
Upon receiving the award, Dr. Cooper said:
“This honour reflects the mission we live every day at Fivecast—to enable a safer world through cutting-edge technology. I’m proud that our solutions are helping intelligence professionals across government and corporate sectors enhance their capabilities and protect communities and organisations. I’m deeply grateful to the AIPIO Board for this recognition.”
The award includes a AUD$5,000 grant to support continued innovation and impact within the intelligence profession.
Bio – Dr. Brenton Cooper – CEO and Co-founder of Fivecast
As leader of Fivecast, Brenton is responsible for driving innovation in the security industry through the application of world leading data science techniques to the field of open-source intelligence (OSINT). Brenton was formerly CTO of the Data To Decisions CRC, a $100 million collaborative research initiative to address data analysis challenges facing Australia’s national security agencies. This work led to the formation & spin-out of Fivecast, where he and the team are working toward their mission to enable a safer world by providing digital intelligence solutions that help protect global communities. Brenton has a Ph.D. in neural networks and his 30+ year career spans technology and management roles for companies including BAE Systems, Tenix Defence and Motorola.
